Major Computer Auctioneers Buyers Terms and Conditions.
Please Read Before Bidding

Receipt of this catalogue and the making of bids at any Major Computer Auctioneers sales constitutes full agreement without reservation to the terms and conditions set out below. If you disagree in any way with the terms below do not make any bids.

Prospective purchasers will be required to register at the registration desk to acquire a bidders number before bidding.

MCA will charge 10% commission on all purchases paid for with Cash Cheque up to Cheque Card Limit or Current Account Debit Card (Switch/Connect Delta/Solo etc). Credit Cards (Visa/Access/Mastercard). Payment for purchases must be made in full on the day. MCA do not accept business cheques. 

Goods become the responsibility of the buyer on the fall of the hammer. All goods must be collected on the day of the sale. Goods not cleared by the end of the sale day will be subject to a £2 per lot, per day storage charge.

All goods in this catalogue are sold as described by the vendor. No warranty is given by the vendor of the goods unless expressly stated in the lot description. On the day of the sale MCA will display a list of amendments to the catalogue descriptions. It is the buyer’s responsibility to verify the descriptions by examining the goods, and to take note of any amendments prior to bidding: MCA accepts no responsibility for the failure of the buyer to do so. Furthermore MCA accepts no responsibility for any assumptions that the buyer might make concerning the goods he has bid for. Particularly with reference to cosmetic defaults, scratches on screens and the absence of printer ribbons and toner, software, software media size, cables, printer trays, batteries, suitability of items for connection to other items etc. The goods can be viewed all day, check them fully before you bid, not after.

MCA protects its customers at auction with its own limited warranty scheme. All goods are given an MCA code which gives its warranty and overall condition as follows: 1 = 5 Day Return To Base Warranty (New/as New/Ex-Demo/Ex-Display). 2 = Test on the day (Working Order) just take the item along with your paid invoice to the test bench, a MCA employee will show you the item working ( Due to the set up and configuration it is not possible to see all items working, check at the test bench before bidding not after) the end of the sale day is the end of your Warranty. 3 = No Warranty (Bought As Seen). Please note that no batteries have warranty.

Code 1: On receipt of the goods, MCA undertakes firstly to restore goods to the description in the catalogue: secondly, to replace the goods: and finally, in the event of a failure to restore or replace, to refund the monies paid to MCA in respect of the goods, but not in respect of any incidental expenses incurred by the buyer.

All items are subject to VAT at the standard rate. MCA commission charges are also subject to VAT at the standard rate. If you are exporting your lots, you must report to the auction office before bidding. Failure to do this could result in your VAT not being refunded

MCA reserves the right to withdraw any lots without notice. A list of such lots will be displayed on the day of the sale.

The buyer undertakes to erase any unlicensed software loaded on any hard disk in line with BSA recommendations.

The buyer is reminded that, if any of the goods are intended by him to be supplied in due course for use at work, the buyer shall, before supplying them for such use, take such steps as are necessary to ensure that such goods will be safe and without risks for health when properly used and should carry out or arrange to carry out such testing and examination as may necessary to enable him to carry out the obligations required by the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

The Auctioneer’s decision is final and will be enforced by the management of MCA at all times. The Auctioneer’s Terms and Conditions are on display in the auction office.

Bidding slips are available from the office for your convenience and should only be used if you are unable to attend the auction. Slips should be completed in full and handed in to the office, along with a 10% deposit (Minimum of £20.00). In the case of unsuccessful bids, deposits are fully refundable.
